Cake Pops

If you know me, then you know I really enjoy baking. I got into it in the past few years as an actual hobby rather than a once in while event. I do it as often as possible while making sure family and friends don’t do on a sugar high. I usually like to make cupcakes, but recently I decided to make cake pops, which I hadn’t done since last year.

Making cake pops is usually a pretty long process because you have to bake a cake, then mush that cake with icing, and then make cake balls. My mom bought a cake pop maker for my fifth birthday when she make them for my party. So for us, cake pops don’t take any longer than normal baking. Making the batter is quite simple, I just follow this one recipe off the internet that I really like for cake pops. I made mine lemon flavored instead of vanilla. I made the batter and started baking them in the maker. The first few turned out bad because they hadn’t cooked enough in the middle. But as I tested out how much batter to put, they started coming our really nice. I realized that some of the balls weren’t cooking from the top, so I had to take each one, and turn it over before I could pull it out.

After spending an hour baking all of them, I warmed up some candy melts in a little fondue pot for the glaze. I picked out this really cute pastel pink color and it was vanilla flavored. I first dipped the top of the stick in the melted candy melts and put the ball on so that it wouldn’t fall off. I did this to all of the balls before moving on so that they all had a chance to dry and harden a little bit. After that, I dipped each one in the candy melts and put on some small white pearl sprinkles.

I set up all of the sticks onto a cake pop stand and then I was finally finished. I was going to my friend’s place later that day, so I took some to share with her, her brother, and her baby sitter. They all really enjoyed them, and I’m so happy. My family wasn’t at home when I was baking, but when they did get home, they all tried them and liked them a lot, which delighted me even more. I had so much fun baking, and loved seeing how much. My dog made it super enjoyable because he kept me company when the house was empty. Super fun, and so delicious.
