My Friend’s an Oscar Winner!

Guess what?! My friend’s an Oscar winner! Well, not a REAL Oscar, but kind of like one. She’s in Girl Scouts, and G.S. was having a competition for the girls. All they had to do was film, star, and edit their own mini film. She had asked me to also star in her her mini film. I was really excited. She told me that the film’s theme had to be superheroes and super powers. Her plan was that she’d interview a bunch of her friends, but ask them all the same question. It actually turned out really well.

There was going to be a gala, but since none of her friends that she interviewed could come to the gala, her mom came up with a secret plan. So she contacted our moms, and told them to bring us over at a certain time. But when we got there, our friend wasn’t there. Then, her mom told us that this mini gala, was a total surprise for our friend. What she had done is that she sent our friend out on a bike ride so that she wouldn’t know that we were coming.

Once, I got there, we all made posters congratulating her. We all hid out in the laundry room. Then, when our friend got there, her mom almost screamingly said “Honey, go check the laundry.” That was our cue. That was supposed to tell us that we needed to hide and get ready to surprise her. When she got to the room, she opened it, and we all yelled “CONGRATULATIONS!”, and she was so happy to see us all there. The first thing everyone wanted to see was the thing we all came for, her mini film. She showed it to us, and we all agreed that she had done an amazing job filming and editing it.

After watching it, we started playing Just Dance. It was so much FUN! We kept switching songs and turns so that everyone got to play. Soon, it was time for dinner. We ate, played a board game to digest our food, and then we played more Just Dance. Her mom called us again for dessert. We had ice cream, strawberry cake, G.S. cookies. It was delicious. After dessert, we just kept talking about school and life in general. And then parents started shoeing up. They all stayed an extra little while so that they could watch her video as well. Even they agreed it was AWESOME! I wished my friend congrats one last time before I left. And she thanked me for coming and giving her a fabulous evening.

And with that, I left her house feeling really happy.
