HAPPY 2017 EVERYBODY! I know this post is a little late, but I’d still love to tell you about my new year. And I’d love to hear about your new years too!
On January 1, 2017, everybody was excited for the new year. And I was too! But I even more excited than usual. And that is because my parents were going to take me and my brother go-karting at K1 speed Indoor Go-Karting. That is what I was so, so, soooooo excited for! But the only downside of getting to go go-karting is that we had to wake up pretty early. Usually at K1 Speed, if you come late, all the races will be packed. And the wait time can be up to 3 hours! But since we woke up early and got there just as it opened, we didn’t have to wait in any line.
The manager got us signed up, and put us into a race. My dad and my brother signed up for the adult race. And I signed up for the junior race. Mom said she’d do it next time. Then when we were about to get into the karts, we found out that only my dad and my brother were racing in the adult race that was coming up. So my mom decided that she’d do it with them. So it was the three of them against each other.
After their race, it was my turn. And guess what? I was the only one in the junior race! So I was racing all by myself. It was super fun! I loved having the whole entire track to myself! I sped through the track 12 times. I made sharp turns, and I did put the pedal to the metal on that kart! Every time I passed by the area were other people can watch you from, I could hear my family cheering me on and urging me to go EVEN faster. After I finished my race, we took pictures on the 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place podiums. My mom got first in the other race. So my mom and me stood on the 1st place podium together. Then my brother was on the 2nd place podium. And finally, my dad was on the 3rd place podium. We asked someone to take a picture of all of us, and my mom and me never 1st place, so we both were really proud of ourselves.
We headed back home and relaxed. We kicked off our year with go-karting, and boy was it FUN!
