I woke up on July 19, 2016, thinking there is something important that is going to happen today. Then it hit me, my grandparents are coming today! I was so excited. I ran out of my room and did the daily routine: wake up, make a ponytail, brush my teeth, eat breakfast, and start on homework. I skipped the last one and instead I started to clean my desk. I put books back onto shelves, moved some of my stuff and put it in my drawer, I even shifted some equipment and rearranged some too. I had a lot of stuff on my desk! When I finished cleaning my desk, it looked really neat and tidy. All that took about 30 minutes. Not that bad. I took a break and watched a show. And then, back to work!
I started cleaning my bed. I fixed the blanket, the pillows, and, I’ m kind of embarrassed, but I also fixed my stuffed animals. ( Don’t judge! ) I cleaned everything else around my room that was getting in the way. “A swish, swish here, and a swish, swish there. Just clean to the clean up song!” Phew! That was a lot of cleaning. I decided to rest and do something else. I got a kit from my aunt. It was a kit to make stepping stones. I thought it would be a cool project to do. So, I decided to make it. It was really easy. You mix water into the cement mix and pour it into the mold. Then you put the stained glass and marble pieces in whatever pattern you want. You let it stay out in the sun for like 5 hours and then you pull it out from the mold and then voila! It’s so easy and so fun.
I had to help my mom too. She was also cleaning. It’s pretty obvious that if I’m cleaning for my grandparents arrival, she is too. After helping her, my dad took me, I actually took him ( dragged him would be accurate ), for a bike ride down to Starbucks Coffee. The nearest Starbucks is only a little more than a mile away from our house. I’ve been there many times while biking. It’s so much fun.
I finally fell asleep at 10:30 PM. My dad said I have to go to bed because my grandparents flight got delayed and they wouldn’t arrive until 12:30 AM. So I didn’t get to see them on that day. But then the next day, straight in the morning, I got to see them.
