All righty. So, if you read my “Last Day of School” post, then you know that I had to leave my friend’s house early after a sleepover. The reason was because I was going to my first ever mud run. I was really excited and a little nervous, but when I showed my friends pictures, they all said it would be really fun and messy. Since we were going to get so dirty, my dad, my brother, and I all had to wear old clothes that we didn’t mind getting ruined.
When we got to the race place, we parked, and then went into the area in front of the race to sign in. We were supposed to race at 9:30, but we got to the race start line early, so we went in the 9:15 wave. We were ready to and the first obstacle was a shallow river of mud water going into an extremely small mountain of mud. My brother and dad skipped, so to keep up with them I skipped it too. There were other obstacles like that, but I did the other ones even though my brother was still being a chicken.
The obstacles were not all that challenging so even I was able to do them. There were a couple that were difficult, such having to jump over a wall that was at least seven feet high with no hand holds except for the top of the wall. My dad had to give me a little boost, but I got over it. There was one activity we had to do which was tire flip. I was barely able to flip the tire over once but I was satisfied with that. My flipped a tire onto my foot, and gave me a tire/rubber burn before that. But I couldn’t see my burn because it was brown, like the mud on my leg. So I didn’t know what was hurting or why it was hurting, I just knew that it was when anything touched it.
I was king of scared for this run, but I had so much fun during it. We got these cool medals and T-shirts after it as prizes. I’m so happy my dad signed me up for this because I had a lot of fun. It was a crazy adventure, and I can’t wait for my next one!
