This post is a little bit late, and I’m sorry for not posting recently, but, I just got out of school a few weeks ago! It’s time to get my summer on! I’m going to India to visit my grandparents and relatives. In the first few weeks summer vacation, when I was still in the U.S., I played with my dog Sparky, practiced guitar, played a bit of ping-pong, and even did some studying. And then, of course, I did my packing for India.
But before I talk about that, I want to tell you about my last week of school. My last week of school was a blast! On the first day of my last week, we had our 5th-grade kickball tournament. My team played all of the teams, and we won every single game. So, we were the Champions of the 5th Grade Kickball Tournament. It’s an actual title.
On the second day, our winning kickball team, (my team), played against the 4th grade winning team. We won again. BOOYA! We also played Trivia in my class. It was a lot of fun. Each table group got to pick if they wanted a question from science or social studies. Then my teacher would ask a question from that category. If the group got the answer right they would get some pieces of candy to share among themselves. My group got all the questions that were for us correct. At the end of the day, we all got an extra piece of candy.
On the third day, we had something called Olympic Day. Olympic Day is a thing that my school made up. There are 6 different stations and each station has a different activity. Our first activity was Capture the Flag. Second, Color Game. Third, the Horse Race. Fourth, Obstacle Course. Fifth, Sponge Race. And sixth, was Popsicles. All of the stations were a lot of fun.
On the fourth day, we had our 5th-grade end of the year pool party. The whole day, we got to go to Bellwood pool, and we had snacks, drinks, basketball, swimming, photo booth, and so much more. It was the best end of the year party ever! I swam most of the time, but then I got out to get lunch and did photo booth with some of my friends. Best day ever!
On my fifth and last day, I had my graduation ceremony. We were going to have the ceremony outside, but then it started raining, and we had to move everything inside. So all the fifth graders, who were wearing fancy clothes, had to go out in rain and move a bunch of chairs. But it was worth it, our ceremony was awesome! We sang “Best Day of My Life” as our goodbye song.
On the same day that school got out, my friend had invited me over for another pool party! We had so much fun. She has a pool in her backyard, so we partied right there. There were food and drinks. And if you wanted you could even make smores. It was a lot of fun!
Before going to India, I had to do a lot of shopping and packing. We had to go shopping for me and the rest of my family. We also had to get a bunch of presents to give to family and friends in India. Busy, busy, busy! Then after a week of crazy shopping and packing, we were ready to go.
When I was traveling to India, I had to take a 12-hour flight to Amsterdam, then another 8-hour flight to Delhi, and finally, a 90-minute flight to Surat. There was a 4-hour at both Amsterdam and Delhi. My mom and I watched a movie when we were waiting at Amsterdam. When we were waiting in Delhi, we ate some snacks, put on some lotion to moisturize, and then we painted our nails. So both of our stops were very… productive you could say.
In the flights itself, we slept a lot, chatted, played cards, ate, and watched a few movies. We were flying international, so we got TVs. I watched The Lego Batman Movie, Beauty & the Beast (2017), Trolls, Cinderella (2016), and I also watched some Tv shows. I had a ton of fun on my journey to India. And I know I’m going to have even more fun in India with my family and friends.
Here are all the places that I’m going to be going to in India: Surat, Meerut, Bombay, and Banglore. I have family in Surat and Meerut, and I’m going to Bombay for a wedding, this is going to be my first wedding that I’m going to. I’m really excited for it! Then in Banglore, we’re just going for sight-seeing. So, while I’m in India, I’m going to a lot of places.
I will try to post more about my trip to India!
